  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced can use frozen strawberries as well
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 tsp cornstarch dissolved in 2 tbsp water

Preparation Steps

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
  • Cook over medium heat until the strawberries release their juices and soften, about 10 minutes.
  • Stir in the cornstarch slurry and continue cooking until the sauce thickens, about 3 more minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Reheat before serving if desired.
