Homemade taco seasoning is easy to make and tastes so much better than store-bought. Loaded with an abundance of flavor and a tiny bit of heat, this mix gets used more than anything else in the spice cupboard!
4tablespoonschili powderNew Mexico Red Chili Powder recommended
1teaspoonred pepper flakes
0.25teaspooncayenne pepper
1teaspoonoregano
2teaspoonssmoked paprika
2tablespoonsground cumin
1teaspoongarlic powder
1teaspoononion powder
1tablespoonkosher salt
1tablespoonfreshly ground black pepper

Preparation Steps
In a small bowl, stir together all of the spices. Store the seasoning mix in an airtight container. I keep mine in a glass mason jar in my spice cabinet.
Notes
This recipe makes approximately 32 teaspoons of taco seasoning. Store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.
