Delicious vanilla cupcakes with creamy frosting.

Ingredients
  

Cupcakes

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup milk

Frosting

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  • Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool in the muffin tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting Instructions

  • In a large bowl, beat butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating until smooth.
  • Stir in milk and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  • Frost cooled cupcakes with frosting.
