Toffee Almond Treats

A delicious and easy-to-make toffee almond treat with a crumbly oat crust and a sweet, gooey almond toffee topping.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup corn syrup
  • 0.33 cup brown sugar packed
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 0.25 cup whipping cream or evaporated milk
  • 1.5 cups sliced almonds
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract

Preparation Steps

  • Combine flour, oats, 1 cup brown sugar, baking soda, and 0.5 cup butter, mixing until crumbly.
  • Press firmly into a 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
  • Bake in a 350°F (180°C) oven for 10 minutes.
  • For the topping, combine corn syrup, 0.33 cup brown sugar, 0.25 cup butter, and cream in a medium saucepan.
  • Cook and stir over medium heat until the mixture boils. Remove from heat.
  • Stir in sliced almonds and vanilla extract.
  • Pour over the baked crust, spreading evenly.
  • Bake in the 350°F (180°C) oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden.
  • Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars or squares and store in the refrigerator.

Notes

Store the toffee almond treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep them fresh and chewy.
