  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 can tomato soup 10.75 oz can, undiluted
  • 2 units eggs

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking dish.
  • In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Stir in the tomato soup, then add the flour mixture gradually, mixing just until incorporated.
  • Pour batter into prepared baking dish and bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow cake to cool before serving.

Notes

For a tangy twist, top with cream cheese frosting.
