Turkey Mushroom Pie

A comforting and flavorful pie filled with tender turkey, savory mushrooms, and a creamy sauce, all baked under a golden-brown crust.

  • 1.5 lb Turkey breast, cooked and shredded
  • 1 lb Cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup Chicken broth
  • 0.33 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tsp Dried thyme
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 Double pie crust Ready-made or homemade

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add mushrooms and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in chicken broth and heavy cream until smooth. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly.
  • Add shredded turkey, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Pour turkey mixture into a pie dish lined with the bottom crust. Top with the second crust and crimp the edges to seal. Cut vents in the top crust.
  • Bake for 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  • Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use a mix of wild mushrooms. Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
