  • 1.5 cups basmati rice rinsed and drained
  • 2 tablespoons butter unsalted
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 3 cups chicken broth low-sodium
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

Preparation Steps

  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add the rinsed rice and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly toasted.
  • Stir in the turmeric and cook for another minute.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and add salt. Stir well.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve.

Notes

For extra flavor, garnish with freshly chopped cilantro or parsley.
