Master the art of baking with these Peanut Butter Cookies. Follow our 7 tips for perfectly chewy treats every time, featuring a soft center, crisp edges, and rich peanut butter flavor.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
Scoop 1-inch balls of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Use a fork to press a crisscross pattern into the top of each cookie.
Bake for 9-10 minutes, or until the edges are just set but the centers are still soft. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For the best chewy texture, be careful not to overbake the cookies. They will continue to firm up as they cool on the baking sheet.
