Preparation Steps
In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until combined.
Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
Punch down the dough and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll into a 15x9 inch rectangle.
Sprinkle raisins and cinnamon evenly over the dough. Roll up tightly, starting from the short end.
Pinch the seam to seal and place the loaf, seam-side down, in a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.
Cover and let rise for 30-45 minutes, or until almost doubled.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
