  • 1.5 lbs ground beef lean
  • 1 can refried beans 16 oz
  • 1 cup salsa mild or medium
  • 10 oz tortilla chips crushed
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • 1 jar taco sauce 10 oz

Instructions
 

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain.
  • Stir in refried beans and salsa. Cook and stir until heated through.
  • Layer half of the crushed tortilla chips in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Top with beef mixture and half of the cheese.
  • Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
  • Pour taco sauce over the top and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  • Bake, uncovered, for 30-40 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

This dish is perfect served with a side of sour cream or guacamole.
