  • 0.75 cup Vegetable shortening
  • 0.75 cup Peanut butter
  • 0.75 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup Packed brown sugar
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2.25 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 cup Granulated sugar for rolling
  • 24 Hershey's Kisses unwrapped

Instructions
 

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the shortening, peanut butter, 0.75 cup granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the milk and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  • Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in 0.25 cup granulated sugar, and place on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until edges are lightly browned. Immediately press a Hershey's Kiss into the center of each cookie.
  • Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
