Dough

  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Ice water

Filling

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 cup Chopped onion
  • 1 cup Diced potatoes
  • 0.5 cup Frozen peas
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Make the dough: Combine flour and salt in a bowl. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water, mixing until the dough comes together.
  • Make the filling: Brown the ground beef in a skillet. Add onion and potatoes and cook until softened. Stir in peas, salt, and pepper.
  • Roll out the dough and cut into circles. Place filling in the center of each circle and fold over to form a half-moon shape. Crimp the edges to seal.
  • Place hand pies on a baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
