Sweet and Sour Chicken Recipe

  • 1.5 lbs Boneless, skinless chicken breasts Cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour For coating the chicken
  • 0.5 cup Vegetable oil For frying

Sweet and Sour Sauce

  • 0.75 cup Pineapple juice
  • 0.5 cup White vinegar
  • 0.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.25 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch Mixed with 2 tablespoons of water

Preparation Steps

  • In a large bowl, toss the chicken cubes with flour until evenly coated.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken in batches until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, combine pineapple juice, white vinegar, sugar, ketchup, and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer.
  • Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Add the fried chicken back to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.
  • Serve hot with rice and your favorite vegetables.

Notes

Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions for added flavor and visual appeal.
